BETTER RELATIONS IN THE MIDDLE EAST THROUGH SOCCER
THE SOCCER ACADEMY TELEVISION SHOW VISITS THE COUNTRY OF SYRIA WITH A DETROIT-BASED FILM CREW
Detroit, Michigan - May 7, 2007: The critically-acclaimed U.S.-based
children's television show, "The Soccer Academy ©", will film an episode of
the program in the country of Syria during the week of May 14th. The show's
cast and crew have been invited by the Honorary Consul General of Syria in
Detroit, Dr. Naji Arwashan, and the episodes will be filmed in conjunction
with Syrian Television. Syria's culture, historical tourist sites and
soccer leagues will be highlighted during the filming of the show.
Detroit-based television and film director, Bob Gothro, will be directing
the episodes in Syria. Hosting the show is the Detroit native, Antonio
Soave, a former high school All-American soccer player from Notre Dame High
School in Harper Woods, Michigan. Antonio, an actor, television host and
filmmaker, recently appeared as the lead actor in the feature film trailer
for an upcoming movie entitled "Ice Time" scheduled to enter the principal
photography stage by November of this year.
"The Soccer Academy" is set to begin airing nationally throughout the United
States on Saturday, July 14, 2007. It will be broadcast on the LATV
Television Networks which include the following ABC, NBC, CBS and
independent affiliate channels: the ABC channel in Miami (channel 10), the
NBC channel in Houston (channel 2), the CBS channel in Orlando (channel 6),
the ABC station in San Antonio, the CBS station in Las Vegas and many

The Soccer Academy© is also broadcast in twenty-two (22) countries in the region of North Africa and the Middle East (the "MENA" Region), expanding
slightly into the Far East as well. It airs once per week in each of these
countries.
